Monkey Quilt and Kitty Fights

Recently my dear friend Sue Maloy had a cute baby boy named McCoy. He was 3 weeks premie and weighed 5 lbs 10oz. I thought I would break him when I first held him at the hospital. Since I conveniently just bought a sewing machine from one of my many garage sale specials I thought this would be the perfect time to use it. The Maloys have monkey everything for this boy and he even had a cute little monkey face when he was born so it was only appropriate. So coming up with the idea for a monkey quilt this is what I came up with, and it was the first time using invisible stitches on the binding. And yes, the eyes are buttons! Sue and Rick moved back to Utah last week so we surprised them with the goodbye quilt. Can't wait to hang out with them again back home.

Ranger has been getting into more fights lately which we tend to blame on Battle Kitty who we see the day Ranger comes home with cuts. About 2 weeks ago Ranger returned with a large tuft of hair off the top of his head. I cleaned his wounds and didn't think much of it. 3 days later, Ranger developed a large mushy bump in front of his ear that he didn't let me touch. After a few hours outside, he came home with blood on top the lump. Once again, I cleaned it but alas, it got worse. Since it was a Sunday night, naturally we called the vet hoping it was no big deal. Instead of take an aspirin and call me in the morning, we were told to bring him in immediately. As soon as we got into the room at the Emergency Vet Clinic the bump exploded we nasty yellow stuff that I will no longer describe. poor guy. i was wondering why the room smelled so bad... We ended up leaving the boy there that night and this is what I found when I went to pick him up the next day.

Poor guy, he looks like a clown with a bow for a drain. It lasted a week and I've never seen him so mad at us. Sorry bud, just trying to help.
